Life Verse Ceremony

A Life Verse is not just a favorite quote or a comforting piece of poetry. It is a spiritual compass, a battle cry, and a direct line between your son and the Almighty.

When you bestow this verse upon him, you are handing him a weapon for the dark days ahead. You are burning a truth into his soul that will anchor him when the world tries to drift him, and charge him when it’s time to stand his ground. This is your crest, your mandate, and your blessing as his father, spoken directly into his spirit.
Long after you are gone, when he faces his deepest trials, your voice and God’s word will echo in his mind through these exact words, reminding him exactly who he is, who he belongs to, and how a man fights.

This is a great starting point ceremony for your son – 6+ years old

The Process:

Pre-Ceremony Training

The parents of the child need to explore the Life-Verse prep material HERE, which highlights the following:

  • Your son was created to know, enjoy and serve God in the ways he was designed, and for the building up of the church.
  • Your son has raw talents that need to be identified by you and your spouse.
  • As a family, it is important to help your son grow into his natural strengths, and learn how to glorify God through them.

Families will decide on an appropriate verse or passage to communicate with their son at camp, connecting their lives with God’s grand story and purpose.

Overview of the ceremony

The ceremony takes place at camp and in front of the group at large. The father has an opportunity to speak truth and encouragement to his son, and formally give his son his LifeVerse.  The father receives a picture with the LifeVerse on it as a follow up.
